Katherine first joined Knox Bhavan in 2001 and has worked for the practice since returning in 2006, interspersed with completing her studies, travelling, and working abroad. Katherine’s long established relationship with Knox Bhavan means she has an in depth knowledge of the studio’s work, both as a project runner and as contributor at all stages of the design and building process.
Katherine has been involved in a wide range of Knox Bhavan projects over the years from award winning new houses to the restoration of historic grade I and grade II listed buildings. She is currently working on a new house on the Thames in Berkshire, and a new house in Hertford.
Katherine has also been involved in a number of construction and architectural projects abroad including an award winning post flood shelter strategy for Ladakh with SEEDS-India. In 2011, Katherine initiated and co-facilitated an Architecture Sans Frontières-UK workshop in India. She has also been an assessor for the Civic Trust Awards, an RIBA student mentor, and has recently completed the RIBA Conservation Course.
Katherine studied architecture at the University of Sheffield and London Metropolitan University where she completed her RIBA part II Diploma with Distinction and was awarded a prize for ‘Best Postgraduate History and Theory Essay’.
