Luke Thomas

<p>Luke joined Knox Bhavan as a Part II Architectural Assistant in July 2023. Prior to this, he studied for his Master of Architecture at the University of Manchester and his Bachelor of Architecture at the Oxford School of Architecture, graduating with Distinction in 2022 and First Class Honours in 2018, respectively. During his studies, Luke was recognised with multiple awards, including the Bown Prize for ‘outstanding design portfolio’ and the Scott Brownrigg Prize for ‘best hand-drawn 3D visualisation’, while also being shortlisted for various others. </p> <p></p> <p>Over this time Luke has explored the intertwined relationship between architecture and social impact while also developing a keen interest in the adaptive reuse of architecture. This curiosity to understand how architecture can be harnessed to catalyse meaningful social change is evident in his passion and drive to volunteer with the charity Think Pacific. For 2 months in 2022 Luke lived alongside his Fijian family in a remote Fijian village, Nakoro. Throughout this time, he helped construct the village’s first medical centre and run various workshops with the community on various of important topics. </p> <p></p> <p>Luke has worked within a wide range of sectors and projects; having previously worked at Scott Brownrigg, London; Spratley & Partners, Henley; and Napier Clarke Architect, Marlow.</p> <p></p> <p>Outside of architecture, Luke is a keen runner and swimmer, having competed at the British Olympic Swimming Trials in 2016 in his youth.</p>
